- Esta cobertura muestra la extensión de los ríos en América del Sur. Los ríos de América del Sur se derivan de la capa de dirección de drenaje HydroSHEDS del Fondo Mundial para la Naturaleza (WWF) y una capa de red de arroyos. La red de flujo ráster se determinó utilizando la cuadrícula de acumulación de flujo HydroSHEDS, con un umbral de aproximadamente 100 km² de área aguas arriba. El conjunto de datos de red de flujo consta de la siguiente información: el nodo de origen de cada arco en la red (FROM_NODE), el destino de cada arco en la red (TO_NODE), el orden de flujo de Strahler de cada arco en la red (STRAHLER), numérico código y nombre de la cuenca principal en la que cae el arco (MAJ_BAS y MAJ_NAME); - área de la cuenca principal en km cuadrados dentro de la cual cae el arco (MAJ_AREA); - código numérico y nombre de la subcuenca en la que se encuentra el arco (SUB_BAS y SUB_NAME); - área de la subcuenca en km cuadrados dentro de la cual cae el arco (SUB_AREA); - código numérico de la subcuenca hacia la que discurre la subcuenca en la que cae el arco (TO_SUBBAS) (los códigos -888 y -999 se han asignado respectivamente a las subcuencas internas y a las subcuencas que desembocan en el mar) . - This coverage shows the extent of the rivers in South America. The rivers of South America are derived from the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) HydroSHEDS drainage direction layer and a stream network layer. The raster flow network was determined using the HydroSHEDS flow accumulation grid, with a threshold of approximately 100 km² upstream area. The flow network data set consists of the following information: the source node of each arc in the network (FROM_NODE), the destination of each arc in the network (TO_NODE), the Strahler flow order of each arc in the network (STRAHLER), numerical code and name of the main basin in which the arc falls (MAJ_BAS and MAJ_NAME); - area of the main basin in square km within which the arc falls (MAJ_AREA); - numerical code and name of the subbasin in which the arc is located (SUB_BAS and SUB_NAME); - area of the subbasin in square km within which the arc falls (SUB_AREA); - numerical code of the subbasin into which the subbasin into which the arc falls runs (TO_SUBBAS) (codes -888 and -999 have been assigned respectively to the internal subbasins and to the subbasins that flow into the sea).
